Collection Overview: Born in 1932, a Japanese technician Shuya Abe (Abe) had collaborated with Nam June Paik (NJP) since 1963. Their collaborative works include Paik-Abe Video Synthesizer (1969) and Robot K- 456 (1964). Abe worked as a professional technician at Tokyo Broadcasting System, California Institute of Arts, Toyo Laboratory, and IMAGICA. Abe also taught at Musashino Art University. Shuya Abe collection spans the years 1963-2010(bulk 1971-2001) and consists of 0.6 cubic meter of records collected by Abe. The collection includes correspondence between NJP and Abe, circuit drawings by Abe, drawings and prints by NJP, brochures and catalogs of NJP’s exhibition, scrap materials regarding NJP, and private gifts from NJP to Abe.

Collection Overview: As a professional video installation company, Sinsung Electronics had involved with Nam June Paik (NJP) for over decades. Major artwork with NJP was The More The Better installed at National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea. Collection Overview: Since its opening in 1978, Gallery Won has organized exhibitions of Korean contemporary artists as well as internationally renowned artists, introduced foreign-based Korean artists to Korean art scene, and supported emerging artists. Collection Overview: Born in Germany in 1932, Mary Bauermeister (Bauermeister) is one of Fluxus artists based in Germany and the USA. Bauermeister opened Mary Bauermeister Studio (Atelier Mary Bauermeister) in 1960 and supported and planned concerts, happenings, and performances. In 1961, Bauermeister participated as a painter in the , which was created by Karlheinz Stockhausen, with Nam June Paik (NJP) acting in the performance. After relocated in New York in 1962, Bauermeister exhibited her works at Galeria Bonino and among others. Since moving back to Germany in 1972, Bauermeister has occupied herself with marginal science and pursued her artwork in the similar context. Collection Overview: Born in Dusseldorf, Erik Andersch (Andersch) is a collector specializing in Fluxus. Influenced by Robert Filliou, who was a friend of Andersch’s, Andersch started collecting artworks. Robert Filliou introduced George Brecht, Takako Saito, André Thomkins, and Nam June Paik to Andersch. The scope of Andersch’s art collection began with first editioned prints and editioned multiples, and was expanded to out-of-print publications. Shiomi performed mail art event series from 1965 to 1975. Returned to music field in 1977, Shiomi experimented with theatrical music for voices and intermedia. Studied Fine Art at University of Cincinnati, Patsfall started Mark Patsfall Graphic, which is a current Clay Street Press, in 1981. Studying composition and music, Corner has actively engaged in radical art movement including Fluxus in the 1960s. Corner served as a resident composer and musician to Judson Dance Theater and co-founded Tone Roads Chamber Ensemble, Sounds Out of Silent Spaces, and among others. Corner taught contemporary music and theory at New School in New York as well as Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Philip Corner collection spans the years 1965-2010 and consists of Fluxus texts written and held by Corner; audio files of talk at The Kitchen and performance of Corner at PAM Music Festival; and scores, production notes, performance objects from concert, NJP Homage Concert in Seoul, in 2009.

Collection Overview: : Born in Germany in 1941, Peter Brötzmann (Brötzmann) is a jazz saxophonist and artist. Studying painting in Wuppertal, Germany, Brötzmann for a while joined avant-garde movement including Fluxus. Brötzmann worked as an assistant to Nam June Paik (NJP) for both exhibitions, Exposition of Music – Electronic Television and Piano for All Senses, in 1963. Brötzmann moved on to the field of music and actively perform as a jazz musician. Collection Overview: Ira Schneider (Schneider) is an American video artist. Beginning with film works in 1962, Schneider has worked with video since 1969. As a co-founder of Raindance Foundation, Schneider published Radical Software from 1970 to 1974. Participating in group exhibitions including TV as a Creative Medium at Howard Wise Gallery in 1969 and various solo shows, Schneider has lived and worked in Berlin since 1993. Collection Overview: Klaus Barisch is a photographer based in Germany. Studying at Cologne University in 1960, Klaus Barisch came into contact with the arts budding Fluxus artists. The Klaus Barisch collection comprises black and white photographs presenting Etude for Piano Forte (1960) performed at Atelier Mary Bauermeister in Cologne and Nam June Paik’s performance with Charlotte Moorman at WDR Funkhaus Cologne in 1980.
